In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, transportation has not been easy for many travelers. Here's my tip and it's a no-brainer: Always have a backup mode of transportation.
Rental cars, planes, and trains may be the most common methods of traveling long distances. But what happens when you arrive to the city you're visiting and realize rental cars are overbooked or you decide to just soak in the slower pace? Here are couple transportation ideas and a few links to help when staying at Dolphin Splash Beach Condo: My favorite (since I don't like driving) is a bike. We rent them to guests so this is easy. Some local shuttle companies operate on tips. The local drivers usually provide the added value of dining and entertainment suggestions. Please don't forget to tip. FREE Beach Ride Or rent a boat. Here's a boat rental near Dolphin Splash Beach Condo: Indian Rocks Boat Rentals Or hop on a trolley. Here is one that picks up in front of Dolphin Splash Beach Condo: Suncoast Beach Trolley. #MakeSplashes #Florida #Beach #Transportation #Travel #Gulf #SunshineState #TravelHack

Ever been stuck between two strangers at 6 AM when flying to host a 16th birthday party? Rest is needed regardless of limited space. I've tried several pillows and blanket ideas. This is now my favorite! It deflates to fit in my little travel bag and inflates with little effort. I slept like a baby for two and half hours.
This little pillow was the talk of my neighbors I realized after waking up. Just glad I wasn't snoring...or they were kind enough not to say anything! Here's a link for the one I purchased and there are several others out there just like it. (Weeby's hyperlink funcion isn't working today so here it's pasted in long form.) http://a.co/3HtOmch Paint Galore! What a fun week we spent updating and decorating the condo. It was a ton of work but the getaway is starting to feel more and more like a beach home. Who knew you could use chalk paint on just about any surface? The sea glass palette will continue throughout the condo in coming weeks but I'm thrilled with how it's coming along.
Tip for traveling: check out the fine details. The maintenance man worked his magic on anything that needed a little TLC. Our housekeeper taught me a LOT last week. She shines up every faucet, squeegees the windows for optimal water views, and must have learned to make beds in the military because you can bounce coins off those beds! I will now look at hotels and vacation rentals from a new lens when we check-in. |
